Web 2.0 Greater in Theory Than Budget - eMarketer  Annotated

More than three-quarters of US marketing professionals surveyed think that social media marketing—also known as Web 2.0—can give them a competitive edge, according to Coremetrics' "Face of the New Marketer" study.


The same respondents said that only 7.75% of their online marketing spending went to such tactics.

    This is a good indicator of social media marketing perception. In trying to transition clients my specific question relates to a comment in your book, on page 168 re: leading bloggers - "won't read press releases unless they are in RSS format." What about traditional press kits? eBay for ex. does not have a downloadable kit for media to download. Other corporate entities do. What's the trend? --Kristin Gabriel
